Undergraduate Student Financial Support Request

Objective: Funding (up to $500) to support academic enrichment of undergraduate students beyond the classroom experience. Allowable expenditures include, but not limited to, research related travel, non-funded research related internships, research conference presentations, support for research projects, and similar activities.

Eligibility: Be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at the University of Kentucky. Students may receive funding once per academic year. First time applicants are encouraged to apply.

Timeline: Funds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applicants should submit the application well in advance of the proposed need. The application will be reviewed and the applicant will be notified. Please allow approximately 2 weeks for review.

DEADLINE for requests: Fall semester requests are to be submitted by October 15, Spring semester and Summer requests are to be submitted by March 15.

Sample Allowable Expenses:

• Registration fees for conferences (as a presenter)
• Airfare and associated expenses
• Mileage for personal car usage
• Lodging expenses
• Expenses related to research: copies, equipment, supplies, etc.
